Technology has advanced to such an extent that wecannot imagine human life without it. Technology
has become a part of tightly woven fabric of modem
life. Technology is the practical implemention
of science which is the world of imaginations. It
continuously strives to make the lives of people
easier and more comfortable in this modern era,
Someone has said it very well, “Necessity is the
mother of creation.” It is our necessity that brought
such an unimaginable advancement in technology.
Technological advancement has perhaps elevated
the human society to a higher level. But despite
the fact that technological advancement has made
our lives more comfortable, there are still many
threats posed by the advancement in technology in
our daily lives. It can even decide the fate of human
civilization on earth. On the other hand, it can allow
human civilization to surpass the boundaries of
nature as well. To unleash the secrets of the universe
the key in our hand is technology and how we use
the key will determine the merits and demerits or
pros and cons of technological advancements.
Today we are using technology in almost any work.
We can work out our heads and limbs doing our daily
works. But why do we need technology in every
step of our life? Does that mean we are dependent
on machines invented by us? Does it symbolize that
we are the slaves to machines? Many people pose
such questions because they believe that technology
has made human mind passive. Many of them even
come up with a rather silly logic. They fancy that the
less the use of our body and mind is, the more the
threats to our existence are. It is because the survival
organ of human beings is brain and its disuse may
eventually lead to our extinction.
Some even believe that intelligence
through technological development may lead to dominance of the
world by machines. This belief is rather seen to
be influenced by modern science fictions like the
‘time Machine’, ‘Transformers’ and other many
literary works. However, we need to acknowledge
these thoughts as well and when we come to think
of it, it may even be possible With such drastic
development in the world of science and technology,
new and powerful machines keep appearing every
day. At some point in future, humans may ever lose
control over such machines.
Contrastingly it is wise to assume that sticking only
to machines is like being a slave to them. Technology
is more of a boon than a curse. Sure, there are some
convincing global issues that suggest technology
has drifted mankind and society far away from the
natural phenomena and the law of nature. But it is
again something that technology can change. If we
think in a new way, perhaps we can use the same
advancement in technology to sustain the natural
beauty and save up the natural resources for our
future generations to come without comprising our
present necessities.
So, we may come up with a conclusion that technology
is just what we can think of to make the world a better
place. It is a result of our imaginative and creative
skills. We should make use of our skills but we should
not misuse it. Then technological advancement that
has brought light in our lives even in the darkest
of nights can be ranked as a boon to uplift human
condition and evolve to a new peaceful era.
